More than 1000 Iowa growers have participated in various aspects of the Iowa Soybean Association On-Farm Network®, and there have been replicated strip trials and stalk nitrate testing in every county in the state. Click here for more on what they’re doing.
The Bay Farms On-Farm Network® is made up of growers from Pennsylvania to Delaware and Virginia who are working together to reduce the impact of agriculture on the Chesapeake Bay and, at the same time, preserve farming as a business and a way of life in the region. The Maumee On-Farm Network®, operating in Ohio and Indiana, formed in response to efforts to reduce nitrogen and phosphate losses from farm fields into the Great Lakes. Grower groups there now have two years of nitrogen management data based on stalk nitrate sampling and will begin making rates and application timing and practices comparisons there this year. Growers in Illinois and North Carolina organized early in 2010 and will do their first On-Farm Network® nitrogen studies this year.
